Our OU Alumni: Dr. Mark Revels
A native of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Dr. Revels is a proud University of Oklahoma graduate. After earning his bachelor’s degree with distinction in health and sports science, he was accepted into the OU College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001 and was honored with the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) award for excellence in orthodontic studies.
Following service as a U.S. Navy dental officer and advanced orthodontic training at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, Dr. Revels returned home to Norman in 2006. Since then, he has been proudly serving the community as a board-certified orthodontist — and cheering for the Sooners every season.
Dr. Tim Shannon
Dr. Shannon is a lifelong Sooner, earning both his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and his Certificate of Specialty in Orthodontics from the University of Oklahoma. In 2010, he returned to his alma mater as a part-time clinical instructor in the Graduate Orthodontic program at the OU College of Dentistry, where he has helped train the next generation of orthodontists.
Board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics — a distinction achieved by only one in three orthodontists — Dr. Shannon is also a member of the Pierre Fauchard Honorary Dental Academy and has been voted “Best Dentist/Orthodontist” in Norman multiple times. In addition to caring for patients in Norman and Oklahoma City, he speaks nationally on innovative orthodontic techniques and collaborates with suppliers on the development of new products.
